The return of the Winston Brothers following the release of their debut album 'Drift' (2022)! Two new songs pressed onto a perfect 45rpm 7" single.
The A-side, 'Straight Shooter' is nothing more than that and was recorded entirely analogue with a Fostex 8 track. A rolling funk escapade, with guitars, horns and drum breaks. The energy is high, edgy and off the rails.
The B-side, 'Island Travel' is a dramatic and cinematic escape. This chilled Afro-beat jam will have your head bobbing along to the hypnotic groove. Infused with elements of ethno-funk and spiritual jazz, 'Island Travel' features a dreamy flute solo by Kimo Eiserbeck and offers the perfect contrast to 'Straight Shooter'.
