Cool girl garage bands Hairem, Girls, Debutantes, Missfits, Beat-Chics and Ace Of Cups star in this new vinyl edition of Ace Records' captivating 'Girls With Guitars' series. The collection begins with 'Get Away From Me' by the mean-sounding Angels, a piece of sultry she-rock recorded around 1965 that sat on the shelf of Philadelphia's Swan Records until Ace rescued it some 40 years later. And then it ends with 'Glue' by the Ace Of Cups, a hippie band that Jimi Hendrix raved about in a 1967 Melody Maker interview. Elsewhere, the plucky Joyce Harris (think Wanda Jackson meets Tina Turner) teams up with Texas bar band The Daylighters to tear the roof off with 'I Got My Mojo Working', Mick Patrick shares informative expertise with his 3,000 word liner notes.
